“Our supreme need is for a new religion, a religion that is our own, consonant with all the best in our past, equal to all the exigencies of our present. But I am convinced that no amount of negative attack on the deficiencies of Christianity can ever of itself bring a better religion into being” -Simpson
Everyone has seen the meme, “Which Way Western Man,” but how many know it came from a memoryholed book published in 1972 by one WG Simpson? I can’t imagine how many Christians have repeated this phrase without realizing its originator came to repudiate their religion. WG Simpson’s Which Way Western Man? is his life’s work culminating in a tome comparable to Oswald Spengler’s Decline of the West in size and content. But the importance of this work may surpass Spengler’s. It is a work of truth that does not pull punches or steer clear of “taboos.” Spengler IS important, but he is a man and like all men, he faults.
A detractor of Spengler can say that he was sort of a coward. The race question he steered clear of. Simpson would ask WHY Spengler avoided talking about the exception to his culture as organism idea: the jews. Where Spengler was trapped by the idea of destiny and fate(true Aryan concept btw), Simpson believed there was a way out IF a race could shake off the jew yoke and re-embrace selective breeding and a martial culture. The only problem for Simpson is he believed it was already too late. The Titanic had already sunk by his time. But let us return to “the question” later on
This book, Which Way Western Man?, is divided into several sections beginning with a sort of autobiography of Simpson’s life, to give you an idea of where his thought came about. He spent his formative adult years as a wandering Christian monk. He went to the ghettos to help out the poors. Worked almost every job under the sun(was not however a soldier as he was opposed to war, thanks to his Christian pacifism at the time). Jesus was his most influential mentor of this time. He read everything he could about him, but one day he discovered Nietzsche which turned his life upside down.
The first part of Which Way Western Man? is an introduction to two figures who you would not think similar in any respect, but Simpson begged to differ: Jesus Christ and Friedrich Nietzsche. Simpson believed that Jesus was fundamentally different from the Bible’s Christ. Normally I glaze over when someone starts talking Christianity, but Simpson gives you a different interpretation of Jesus using the evidence left to us through the Bible. He calls the man Jesus and claims that the idea of Christ is a forgery of the Christian church that never even existed. Jesus, the real Jesus, was a lot closer to Nietzsche than he was to Christ. He did not seek to create a world religion and he didn’t try to recruit everyone into his faith.
Jesus followed the will of God solely. He sought disciples, but not just anyone could be a disciple. His way wasn’t meant for the mass man. Simpson offers up many passages from the Bible supporting this assertion. While Jesus holds a place of reverence in Simpson’s “pantheon,” a place shared by one other, Simpson believed following the way of Jesus had only one outcome: racial suicide. Jesus didn’t mean for this or want it.
The ultimate problem with Jesus according to Simpson was that he lived too long ago. You can’t trust the sources which are always contradictory to begin with. Now of course, this isn’t enough reason for the true Christian who there by faith anyways, but for Simpson’s intense studying of everything copied down about what Jesus said and how he lived his life, it is worth hearing what he has to say, compared to someone like me who rejects Christianity and never gave it a serious thought. Simpson was a true believer who became a monk. His “faith” was likely far deeper than the legions of Christians who would attack him for his change of heart. Nietzsche’s thought and belief were not far from Jesus in Simpson’s estimation and he was closer in time to us that we have a clearer picture of the real man. It was Nietzsche who Simpson believed should take the place of Jesus in the modern mind.
Simpson’s encounter with Nietzsche’s writing changed the course of his life.
“He, the White man, sprung from one of the greatest warrior races of history, instead of leaping to assert himself, and to defend himself, and to press firmly for what he needs for his survival and for the realization of the greatness that is in him, sits in a corner, and hesitates, and mopes, and apologizes not only for being what he is but for what his ancestors were, and dutifully tries to put on the mincing manners of the one-worlder and the Christian pacifist, which his would-be subverters enjoin upon him.” -Simpson
The reality is, as I’ve written in the past, that the haters of Nietzsche have almost always never actually read what he had to say. They pick out one quote only, “God is dead,” and attack him for it. They don’t even read the context in which it was uttered. That Nietzsche was identifying a symptom. He didn’t declare “God is dead,” he only pointed out that to the people of his time, God was already dead and buried. Now there were still Christians, but they weren’t the Christians of before. They weren’t “true believers.”
Imagine a Bible-thumping Simpson coming across Thus Spoke Zarathustra and reading it on his farm in the Catskills mountains. You have to imagine he undertook this task to disprove Nietzsche, but unlike most Christians, he actually read Nietzsche and this turned his world upside down. Simpson relates that he was both obsessed and repulsed with Nietzsche, nonetheless, he was driven to read everything Nietzsche had ever written. He sought out biographies about him to learn as much as he could. His experience as a wandering monk also played into the transformation of his mind. By the time of his book, Simpson reported back that Nietzsche should be the new Christ for a new age and that he held a place in his mind shared only by Jesus. After ten years of studying Nietzsche, he got to a place where he thought he could also critique him.
Both Nietzsche and Jesus did not seek to persuade the masses. They sought out the few who were like them. Where Jesus was concerned with following the way of God, Nietzsche sought out the way of nature, of what it took to survive and thrive in nature. It’s my belief that the man or race that TRULY holds to the path of Nietzsche frees himself from the psyop that is Christianity. He or they set themselves on a course set for salvation. It was through Nietzsche that Simpson was awakened, but unfortunately for him, the moment was like that of Neo in The Matrix movie when he wakes up from his pod in the real world. Simpson sees for the first time how far his race has drifted from the way of nature and how perilous the road ahead has become.
Simpson spends the rest of his life looking for the way out. He cites MANY sources in his work. Which Way Western Man? is a scholarly undertaking. Much of this review focused on only the first part of the book which is a comparison of Jesus to Nietzsche, but Simpson goes deep into the rabbit hole and approaches subjects some of the most “RW” personalities of our time won’t touch. He gets into one of the biggest taboos out there: INBREEDING. Inbreeding is described by the mainstream as a dysgenic practice. Whenever you see it portrayed in the media, it’s always with “inbred” White trash type characters with sick deformities, but Simpson would disagree with this entirely.
Breeding is the most important aspect of the race. The great races came about through inbreeding and isolation. He comes to the same conclusion that BAP and Costin Alamariu come to. In fact, what they say is so similar to Simpson that I have to wonder if either of them read Which Way Western Man? at some point. Inbreeding must be decriminalized according to Simpson. Outbreeding makes it harder to isolate the type of men you’re trying to create. Outbreeding destroys the race.
Simpson believed sleeping with your mom or sister was OK. It’s trad. When you inbreed, it is easier to breed out deformities and weaknesses. Simpson called for eugenics councils to these ends. The trash of a race should not be allowed to breed and likewise, the elite should be compelled to have as many children as possible. “Any organism that cannot excrete its waste product dies,” said Simpson. The conclusions and recommendations Simpson had for the youth are these: marry your like, see her in a bathing suit at beach beforehand, and BEAUTY is not skin deep.
