Frame and The Military Press
I haven’t talked about Training enough on this substack. Today, we will talk about The Military Press aka The Shoulder Press aka just The Press. But to convey this Actionable Advice as the legendary Michael Porfirio would say, I must talk about Frame.
Now,
This isn’t a game substack. I ain’t here to help you pick up womanz.
What is Frame? It’s a term from the manosphere back in the day. Listen, the manosphere is soy now, but it’s origins were noble. Frame is a mindset. In a relationship, does a female enter your world or do you enter hers? That’s how you determine Frame.
Frame can be applied to all your interactions, not just relationships. Your goal should be — by powerful force of will — to have everyone you interact with to enter your world.
What does Frame have to do with The Press?
Frame is everything. There’s frame even when you’re training. How do most people Press? They set up in a squat rack and pull the bar from the rack? What happens?
When you’re training for strength, the load gets heavy. And when you’re new, The Press is your worst lift? Why? Because as soon as you get under the bar, it feels like the weight of the world is on your shoulders.
Without the experience and intensity, this alone will cause a failed lift or limit the reps you actually do. This is Frame. You entered the barbell’s Frame and were crushed. It’s hard to generate the Fury necessary to handle a Heavy Press. Here’s how you can Learn.
Power Clean Your Military Press
When you train, you should train as if you’re going to war. Training is means of which you can unleash your Barbaric Vitalism. The way you learn to dominate Heavy Presses is by actually dominating the bar.
When you perform a Power Clean, you’re dominating the barbell. Whatever weight it is, you just ripped it from the floor to your shoulders. This is how you handle The Press.
Instead of letting The Press take Frame by putting the world on your shoulders, you rip the barbell from the floor which sends Sparked Synapse to your Brain that you just manhandled that weight.
This Mental Edge will be implanted in your mind and make the weight feel lighter.
Spend time Power Cleaning your Presses. Almost everyone can Power Clean much more than they can Press so it will feel easy.
Once you spend enough time Power Cleaning, you may return barbell to rack. Your body will know the correct intensity to use now.
